A Buddhist police officer has said a 200-year-old mummified monk discovered in Mongolia and isn’t dead but in a very deep meditation.
The well-preserved body was found in the lotus position while it was covered in animal skin. Last week in the Songinokhairkhan district, which is close to the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar, a man was attempting to sale the mummy.
However, police arrived at the spot and arrested him. The mummy was handed over to the scientists in order to investigate what the real matter is.
Senior Buddhist scholars believe that the monk is in a rare state of meditation, which is the highest state close to the state of Buddha.
If the monk continues his meditation state, he can become a Buddha. Moreover, the religious Buddhas believe that the people who live in the company of a monk see a rainbow that glows in the sky for several days. In Buddhism this state is known as rainbow state.
Till yet, no identification has given to the monk while the majority of the Buddhists believes that he was the teacher Lama Dashi, a famous mediator found in the same state. However, its early to conclude the results as the investigation is in process.
